The family Klingele had built the stately home as a hotel in 1902, which was never put into operation for lack of guests. It was intended that primarily tourists from England would acclimatize and rest here before they started the arduous journey to the Belalp. During the construction of the Lötschberg railway the house served the railway company as office space. Afterward the house hosted temporarily a printing office, the Raiffeisenbank as well as apartments. The Klingelehaus was renovated expertly in 1999 and hosts today as House of Commerce to various companies.
