A precious old bible has been kept for over 300 years in the Gastern valley. It was given to the inhabitants of the valley at that time out of gratitude for the path maintenance of the Lötschen pass. It can be visited at the Hotel Steinbock. On the first Sunday in August the Gastern sermon takes place in Selden where the Gastern bible is used.
